Content Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

ChudGames is for edgy games. Violence, gore, horror, satire and dark humour are the draw. This page is specific about where the line is, because a vague policy is unenforceable and unfair to the people it is enforced against.

Every game is reviewed by a human before it is publicly visible. Nothing is published automatically.

Permitted

  • Stylised and realistic fictional violence
  • Blood and gore
  • Horror and psychological horror
  • Dark fantasy
  • Mature themes
  • Satire and dark humour
  • Profanity
  • Substance themes in a fictional frame

Prohibited — no exceptions

  1. Sexual content of any kind. Nudity, sex acts, hentai, fetish material, or content whose primary purpose is titillation. Not “moderated”, not behind a toggle — absent.
  2. Sexual violence or non-consensual sexual themes, in any framing, including as critique.
  3. Any sexualisation of minors or minor-coded characters. Permanent ban, no appeal, and we preserve and report as the law requires.
  4. Violence against children or child-coded characters as gameplay.
  5. Torture of restrained or captive characters as a core mechanic or focus.
  6. Real-world graphic violence — crime-scene or execution imagery, or footage of real people being harmed.
  7. Hate speech, or violence targeting people on the basis of protected characteristics. Glorification of real extremist movements, real terrorist attacks or real mass-casualty events, or content that would function as recruitment material.
  8. Harassment of, or content targeting, identifiable real people.
  9. Real-money gambling, loot boxes purchasable with real money, or simulated gambling aimed at minors.
  10. Infringing intellectual property — ROMs, emulated commercial titles, unlicensed use of others’ characters or assets, direct clones or reskins.

Ratings and descriptors

Every published game carries content descriptors applied by a human — violence, blood, gore, horror, jump scares, profanity, substances, disturbing themes, flashing lights, and others.

An age rating of 13+ or 16+ is derived from those descriptors by a fixed rule. A moderator can make a rating stricter, never looser.

There is no 18+ rating, deliberately. An 18+ label is widely read as meaning sexual content, and there is none here — that is the first prohibition on this page. 16+ is the strictest rating we issue, and it is what the harshest material carries.

Games with flashing-light content carry a photosensitivity warning before they load.

Reporting

Every game page has a report control, or email abuse@chudgames.org. Reports go to a human.

Abusing the reporting system — mass-reporting a competitor, for example — is itself a violation.

Enforcement

We may remove or restrict any game at any time. A takedown takes effect globally in under 30 seconds and does not wait for caches to expire.

Developers accumulate strikes for violations, with escalating consequences up to permanent removal. Category 3 above bypasses the strike system entirely.

If your game is removed and you believe we got it wrong, reply to the moderation notice. Appeals are read by a human who was not the original reviewer, where staffing allows.

Advertising

Some games are not eligible to show ads even though they are allowed on the platform. That is a separate judgement from whether a game is permitted, and it follows our ad partners’ policies — which are stricter than ours in specific areas.

Changes

We will update the date above. Where a change makes something newly prohibited, we will give developers notice before enforcing it against existing games, except where the law or user safety requires otherwise.
